Job summary

DEPT OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee Green Infrastructure construction activities in NYC under the Construction Management Section Lead. You will support field inspections, documentation, and coordination with DEP, DDC, DOE and EDC partners to ensure quality, safety, and conformance with contract documents.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, basic AutoCAD/GIS knowledge, and a track record in managing public infrastructure projects from

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or educational equivalent plus five years' full-time experience managing/conducting construction projects with total cost at least $300,000 per project.
• Optionally, one year experience plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction-related field.
• Optionally, one year experience plus a professional engineer/architect license.
• Alternative combination of education/experience to total five years.'

Responsibilities

• Participate in and coordinate field inspections for capital construction contracts for on-site or Right of Way Green Infrastructure.
• Prepare and submit reports on project schedule and cost updates.
• Attend construction progress meetings with contractors, consultants and agencies.
• Resolve construction-related issues to maintain budget and schedule.
• Assist in cost estimates and negotiations for outsourced construction management services.
• Coordinate with other agency personnel for project input and decisions.
• Perform inspection audits to measure contractor performance during GI construction.
• Enforce compliance with DEP sewer use regulations.
• Coordinate with design engineers on field-related issues.
