Job summary

Frontier-Kemper Constructors, Inc. in Manhattan, NY seeks an Environmental Engineer to join our Tunnel Project. The role focuses on environmental impact assessments, EMP development, and regulatory compliance for heavy civil construction.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into planning and execution while monitoring air, water, soil quality, and waste management on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, OSH, Environmental, EHS, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated EHS experience in construction environments, including extensive on-site field operations.
• Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) credential recognized by NYSDEC.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience with hazardous waste management and spill prevention/response plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and site evaluations related to civil construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and monitor EMPs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations.
• Monitor air, water, soil quality and waste management on construction sites.
• Perform environmental inspections and prepare reports, documentation, and permit applications.
• Identify environmental risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Assist in development and delivery of environmental training programs.
• Stay updated on environmental laws and best practices in civil construction.
• Support sustainability initiatives and green technologies.
