Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) seeks a Construction Project Manager to oversee Green Infrastructure construction in New York City. Under the Construction Management Section Lead, you will supervise field inspections, document progress, and ensure conformance with contract documents and codes.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and ArcGIS, plus experience managing public infrastructure contracts. NYC residency is not required.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma and five years' full-time experience managing/inspecting construction projects costing at least $300,000.
• One year of experience and a baccalaureate degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, construction, construction technology, or construction management.
• One year of experience and a valid professional engineer, architect, or landscape architect license.
• High school diploma plus two years of related experience to total five years may be substituted with education as described above.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field inspections for capital construction contracts for on-site or Right of Way Green Infrastructure.
• Prepare and submit reports on project schedules and costs.
• Attend construction progress meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Assist in resolving construction issues to maintain budget and schedule.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiations for outsourced construction management services.
• Coordinate with DOE/SCA for project input and decisions.
• Perform inspections and audits to measure contractor performance on GI projects.
• Enforce DEP sewer use regulations.
• Coordinate with Design Engineer on field-related issues.
