Job summary

Bohler's Warren, NJ office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) to gain hands-on experience from concept to construction on real site design projects.

As a Summer 2027 intern, you will work with engineers, designers, and project managers, using AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist with concept, grading, stormwater, and utility plans, while learning zoning, permitting, and field observation. Enrollment in a Civil engineering program is required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• A self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (training provided if not yet proficient)
• Curiosity and motivation to learn within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading plans, stormwater management, and utility layouts
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions
• Participate in team meetings and contribute design/process improvements
