Job summary

Bohler's Rehoboth Beach, DE office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain hands‑on experience in site design and the complete development process. You will work with engineers and project managers on real projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Gain exposure to concept to construction, learn grading and stormwater planning, and collaborate across disciplines in a supportive environment with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred; training is provided if not yet proficient.
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
• Enhance technical skills with hands‑on AutoCAD Civil 3D design of concept plans, grading plans, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to move projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for design and process improvements.
