Job summary

Bohler in Atlanta, GA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain real-world site design experience. You will work with engineers, designers, and PMs to support AutoCAD Civil 3D design and permitting across commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.

As an intern, you will learn the land development process from concept to construction, participate in meetings, and contribute to design improvements while receiving mentorship

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Civil/Environmental/Biosystems engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Experience day-to-day operations of a civil engineering firm.
• Learn the stages of land development and site design.
• Gain hands-on design experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D (concepts, grading, stormwater, utilities).
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and learn the engineering process.
• Participate in team meetings and propose design/process improvements.
