Job summary

Bohler's Charlotte, NC office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Spring 2027 to gain hands-on experience in site design and permitting. You’ll learn the complete land development process from concept to construction while collaborating with engineers, designers, and project managers.

You will gain practical experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D on concept, grading, stormwater, and utility plans, contributing to real client projects and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Eng or related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site design and land development tasks under senior engineers.
• Support design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, and utility plans.
• Attend team meetings and help drive project progress.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and learn engineering processes.
