Job summary

Bohler's Charlotte, NC office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Fall 2026 to learn real site design through hands-on projects. Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter attitude with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (training provided if not proficient).
• Curiosity and motivation to learn within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
• Enhance technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading plans, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.
