Job summary

Bohler’s Philadelphia office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in site design and land development, collaborating with engineers, designers, and project managers to support real-world projects from concept to construction.

You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept and grading plans, stormwater and utility layouts, and erosion control plans while learning the full land development process and coordinating

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering or related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred; training provided if not yet proficient).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn stages of land development and site design processes.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to advance projects.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and understand the engineering process.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute design/process improvements.
