Job summary

The Bay Family of Companies is seeking a Machine Operator to ensure efficient production flow for the metal building insulation laminating operation. The role involves safe setup and operation of laminators and band saws, following work instructions to meet customer specifications.

You will provide direction to General Laborers during setup, maintain production records, and support inventory control to optimize safety and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling operations preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Experience with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform duties in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up laminators and band saws, ensure safety and quality standards.
• Perform daily machine safety inspections and complete safety checklists.
• Conduct preventive maintenance per schedule (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Maintain accurate production records including quantities produced, waste, and downtime.
• Material handling and production flow: stage materials, support loading/unloading, ensure proper storage and labeling.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments per customer/ carrier requirements.
• Maintain inventory records and document material movements in ERP or inventory system.
• Conduct quality checks to verify product specifications and labeling.
