Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking an Executive Director of Laboratory Services in Weymouth, MA to provide strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory leadership for all laboratory operations.

Reporting to the VP of Operational Excellence and Clinical Services, this role directs phlebotomy, quality and regulatory programs, pathology partnerships, and workforce development, ensuring CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission and state and federal compliance.

The compensation pay range is $145,000 to $210,300.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations.
• Three years in administrative management role preferred.
• Licensure as MT/MLS or ASCP equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily laboratory operations across core laboratory, microbiology, blood bank, pathology, histology and phlebotomy.
• Ensures service quality, turnaround time, and productivity goals.
• Maintains staffing models to support operations and organizational needs.
• Develops standardized procedures and performance expectations across sites.
• Leads regulatory compliance and accreditation activities.
