Job summary

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center Campus seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead the Microbiology department and STAT labs, ensuring quality, safety and efficient operations for a high-traffic hospital laboratory.

The role requires hospital experience, leadership of 25+ staff, and strong collaboration with the Laboratory Director to uphold regulatory standards and deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MLS/HTL/CT certifications listed in the required licenses.
• Professional certifications in histocompatibility or medical technology support leadership role.
• Experience in hospital laboratory operations essential; high complexity testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory operations and staff supervision in a multi-department laboratory.
• Develop and implement processes to monitor and improve customer satisfaction and quality.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (TJC, FDA, AABB, CAP, CLIA, OSHA).
• Manage resources, staffing, inventory and budget within department goals.
• Provide staff training, competency assessments and performance feedback.
