Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee operations in Microbiology and STAT labs at the Texas Medical Center Campus. The role emphasizes leadership, staff supervision, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hospital laboratory operations, including high complexity testing, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and staff development

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in laboratory operations; 6 years preferred, including 2 years in supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes to monitor and improve customer satisfaction in the lab.
• Represent the Laboratory in the absence of the Director and support administrative functions as directed by the Laboratory Director.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (TJC, FDA, CAP, CLIA, OSHA, etc.).
• Supervise laboratory staff, oversee training and competency development, and participate in hiring decisions.
• Maintain inventory, staffing, and payroll considerations while ensuring efficiency and quality of service.
