Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in the Texas Medical Center campus is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee the Microbiology and STAT laboratories. This role leads a team of 25+ staff, drives quality, cost efficiency, and patient satisfaction while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field, relevant MLS/HTL/CT certifications, and extensive leadership experience in acute care hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory technology, biological science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MLS/HTL/CT certifications may be required.
• Experience in hospital laboratory operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes to monitor and improve customer satisfaction in the laboratory.
• Supervise staff and laboratory processes, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Director to maintain regulatory compliance and quality programs (TJC, CAP, CLIA, OSHA).
• Represent laboratory leadership in communications with physicians, patients and other departments.
