Job summary

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center Campus seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead the Microbiology and STAT labs. The role emphasizes quality, safety, staff development, and patient satisfaction in a busy hospital setting.

You will supervise 25+ staff, oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance (TJC, CAP, CLIA, FDA), and partner with the Medical Director to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, biology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Licensure/certifications: MLS, HTL/CT or ABHI/AMT as applicable.
• 4 years laboratory operations experience; 6 years preferred in HLA; 2 years supervisory.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements processes to monitor and improve customer satisfaction.
• Supervises laboratory staff and processes; ensures quality, safety and cost efficiencies.
• Represents the Laboratory in the absence of the Director and supports regulatory compliance.
• Oversees staffing, payroll, inventory and resources to maximize efficiency.
