Job summary

SEIU Local 49 in Albany, NY seeks a Labor Relations Representative to support membership through negotiations, grievance handling and organizing activities. Qualifications

• Minimum five years of labor relations/attorney experience; public sector preferred.
• Experience negotiating and handling grievances for members.
• Proven ability to present cases and communicate in writing and orally.
• Ability to read, write, and speak to groups of varying sizes.
• Attend and conduct local unit member meetings and negotiate CBAs.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to SEIU Local 49 membership on labor relations issues.
• Lead communications, negotiations and handling grievances for members.
• Represent local bargaining units and manage organizing activities.
• Attend local unit meetings and travel as required.
