Job summary

SEIU Local 49 in Albany, NY seeks a Labor Relations Representative to support membership through negotiations, grievance handling and organizing activities. • Experience negotiating and handling grievances for members.
• Proven ability to present cases and communicate in writing and orally.
• Ability to read, write, and speak to groups of varying sizes.
• Attend and conduct local unit member meetings and negotiate CBAs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of labor relations/attorney experience (public sector preferred) and negotiating experience.
• Utilize knowledge of various collective bargaining agreements to effectively processes grievances on behalf of members.
• Attends and presents cases on behalf of members.
• Attend and conduct local unit membership meetings.
• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills, by reading, writing, and communicating effectively.
• The ability to present information and speak to groups of varying sizes.

Compensation:
Competitive salary ($80,000.00 to $105,000.00) depending on experience plus auto allowance. Comprehensive benefit package.

Position Summary:
Provide service to membership. Involved in communications, negotiations, handling grievances and organizing activities. Represent local bargaining units covering all activities related to membership employment issues. Some overnight travel required.
