UNC Health’s Labor & Delivery unit in Chapel Hill is seeking a Surgical Technologist I for full-time 36 hours per week with day/night rotating shifts, including weekends. The role supports sterile technique, instrument handling, and intraoperative assistance in obstetric procedures.

The team operates in a Level III facility with extensive obstetric activity and round-the-clock anesthesia coverage, offering a structured environment and opportunities to work with a dedicated maternity team.

Formación

• Education: None required if qualifications met.
• Licensure/certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider; graduate of accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program; military training accepted; or 3+ years prior experience as surgical tech.

Responsabilidades

• Performs surgical technologist duties in OR areas following standards; maintains sterile technique.
• Maintains, assembles, handles, and sterilizes specialty instrumentation.
• Labels drugs and solutions; monitors quantities used.
• Assists in preparation and handling of surgical specimens.
• Sets up instruments, supplies and drapes for procedures; supports surgical team.
