Job summary

SGS is seeking a detail-oriented lab technician in Brookings, SD to prepare samples for analysis following SOPs and operate analytical instrumentation. You will perform routine calibration and maintenance, input data, and maintain notebooks to support ongoing laboratory functions.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years’ experience in analytical chemistry labs; the company emphasizes HSE compliance and adherence to internal standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories preferred.

Responsibilities

• After training, independently prepare samples for analysis using department SOPs and instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Comply with SGS HSE policies and ISO 17025 or GLP regulations.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Must be compliant with SGS HSE policies and adhere to ISO 17025 or GLP Regulations.
