Job summary

SGS is seeking a laboratory support technician in Brookings, SD. The role involves preparing samples for analysis, operating and maintaining prep instruments, and ensuring accurate data entry in lab records.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1–2 years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience. ISO 17025 or GLP familiarity is a plus and adherence to SGS policies is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories is preferred.
• Experience with ISO 17025 or GLP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS procedures.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Comply with SGS HSE policies and ISO 17025/GLP requirements.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Must be compliant with SGS HSE policies and adhere to ISO 17025 or GLP Regulations.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)
