Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Lab Associate II for a Tuesday to Saturday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role supports routine laboratory operations, including sample preparation, labeling, and transportation of specimens, while maintaining strict data integrity in the LIS.

The position emphasizes adherence to safety policies and collaboration with licensed personnel. A biology/chemistry background and relevant laboratory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of histopathology, cytology or other laboratory experience.
• 1 year of experience handling PHI and other patient information using a LIS.
• 2-3 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and organizes samples for testing, e.g., sample racking, aliquoting and tube preparation.
• Labeling, handling, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens.
• Identifies sample problems and assists in resolving appropriately; demonstrates problem solving on service and production issues.
• Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventive maintenance; notifies staff of equipment problems.
• Trains other Lab Associates and supports Training Programs.
• Demonstrates leadership through accountability and collaboration in daily activities.
