Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Royal Oak, MI seeks a Lab Associate II to support routine laboratory duties in histopathology/cytology, with a 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule. Responsibilities include sample prep, labeling, data entry, and instrument maintenance.

The role requires 1 year of lab experience and LIS familiarity; 2–3 years of lab experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of histopathology, cytology or other laboratory experience.
• 1 year of PHI and LIS experience.
• 2-3 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and organizes samples for testing, e.g., sample racking, aliquoting and tube preparation.
• Labels, handles, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of specimens.
• Identifies sample problems and assists in resolving them.
• Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventive maintenance.
• Trains other Lab Associates and supports Training Programs.
• Maintains records of reagents or media using established procedures.
• Performs data entry and tallies workload data for reports.
• Keeps laboratory areas neat, clean, and organized.
• Complies with health and safety policies and uses PPE.
