Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Royal Oak, MI, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM with rotational weekends. Shift differentials up to 15% may apply for later shifts.

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting with high/comprehensive testing.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or an Associate degree in Laboratory Science or MT.
• ASCP Certification (Preferred).
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and instrument troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform test procedures of moderate/high complexity with independent judgment.
• Support QC, troubleshoot complex problems, and train staff as needed.
• Perform and report analytical tests following SOPs and quality requirements.
• Maintain specimen handling, processing, and accurate record keeping.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System for physician review.
• Maintain safe, clean, and compliant lab environments.
• Assist supervisor with training of other personnel and participate in inspections.
