Job summary

Avantor is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support cycle counting, material handling, and distribution in a fast-paced lab and production environment. The role involves coordinating with quality and EHS, ensuring accuracy of stock data and timely disposition of materials across sites in the Bay Area.

Experience with SAP MM or Oracle inventory modules is preferred, along with Lean Six Sigma tools. Travel to multiple California sites is required to maintain stock integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, chemistry, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in inventory management, material handling, warehouse ops, or supply chain in lab/pharma/regulatory environment.
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Outlook, ERP systems for inventory transactions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cycle counting across stockrooms and storage areas.
• Investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Analyze variance patterns and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare variance reports with root cause analysis.
• Support internal and customer inventory audits with documentation.
