Job summary

The Matlen Silver Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced L2/L3 Batch Support Engineer in Pennington to provide production and batch support for enterprise applications.

You will monitor jobs, troubleshoot incidents, and develop Python automations to improve operational efficiency, while coordinating with IT teams during incidents. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production/batch support, strong SQL, Linux/Unix experience, ITIL exposure, and familiar with Dynatrace, Splunk, or ITRS Geneos for

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in production or batch support.Hands-on experience providing L2/L3 production or batch support.Strong experience with batch job troubleshooting and scheduling.Experience with BOB/Quartz Scheduler or Autosys.Strong SQL skills and ability to write/ troubleshoot complex queries.Experience using Python scripting for automation.Strong Linux/Unix production environment experience.Experience with ITIL-based Incident/Problem Management processes.Experience with enterprise monitoring/ observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, ITRS Geneos).

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production and batch support for enterprise applications and scheduled processes.
• Monitor batch processing and investigate failed/delayed/ incomplete jobs.
• Troubleshoot production issues and determine resolutions or escalation paths.
• Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries for data investigation and resolution.
• Use Python scripting to automate repetitive tasks and improve processes.
• Monitor applications, batch processes, and system health using observability tools.
• Participate in incident response, escalation, and ITIL-based processes.
