Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and participate in occasional catering. You will perform a range of kitchen duties to help deliver quality meals to students in a cafeteria setting.

The role involves following menus and recipes, prepping ahead for the next day, and operating slicers, mixers, ovens, and dishwashers. You will maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure proper food temperatures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred; or related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Set up serving lines daily and ensure food held at proper temperatures.
• Assist in food preparation according to menu and recipes.
• Operate food prep equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and FIFO inventory.
• Maintain sanitation in dishwashing area and track temperatures.
• Assist with cash handling and meal reconciliation tasks.
• Attend required trainings and safety procedures.
