Job summary

DIG INN Restaurant Teams in New York is seeking cooks who share a passion for real, good food and a desire to learn culinary skills in a fast-paced kitchen. We teach individuals who are excited to share their enthusiasm for food and transform them into skilled chefs.

You will advance and gain the ability to work with food, develop leadership skills, and stay sharp in our fast-pace culinary environment. You will work across multiple kitchen stations, communicate with guests about menu offerings

Qualifications

• A passion for real, good food and willingness to learn culinary skills.
• Strong teamwork and ability to support the kitchen during peak times.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with guests and teammates.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds and more.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prep, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, and grains using recipes and taste.
• Rotate through multiple kitchen stations including garde manger, grill, roast, and market line.
• Explain menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients to guests to enhance their experience.
• Support the team during peak and off-peak service by pitching in as needed.
• Move efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and manage physical tasks safely.
• Uphold DIG's food safety standards and anti-discrimination policies.
• Contribute to the mission of rebuilding the food system.
