Job summary

Opaa! Food Management is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support breakfast and lunch service in a school cafeteria. You will prepare food per menus, assist with serving lines, and help with catering functions, while maintaining quality and presentation.

The role requires standing for long periods, rotating through stations, and following safety and HACCP guidelines. Experience in food service is helpful, and you will work as part of a collaborative culinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in food service helpful.
• Ability to follow recipes and menu plans and maintain food safety standards.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced cafeteria environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure food held at proper temperatures.
• Assist in food preparation per menu and Opaa! recipes.
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas and dishwashing zones.
• Maintain FIFO inventory practices and organize cooler/storage racks.
• Requisition food and supplies from Kitchen Manager.
• Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan and present to customers.
• Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation.
• Set up serving/bar lines and ensure proper serving sizes and utensils.
• Provide hospitality and quality presentation to customers.
• Stock serving lines with food items, napkins, and utensils.
