Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking a kitchen assistant to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings and assist with serving lines. You will perform all positions within the kitchen, maintain clean work areas, and help with occasional catering functions on a schedule across multiple sites.

The role involves following recipes, HACCP and safety procedures, operating standard kitchen equipment, and ensuring proper portion sizes while delivering friendly, efficient service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and communicate clearly.
• Basic math skills for measurements, recipes, and portions.

Responsibilities

• Set up serving lines and ensure food is held at correct temperatures.
• Prepare foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; plan ahead for next day menus.
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification and maintain cleanliness.
• Keep work areas neat, organized, and stocked; practice FIFO.
• Assist in dishwashing area and manage cleaning of kitchen and cafeteria.
• Assist with daily production records and accuracy per policy.
