Job summary

The Habit Burger Grill in Virginia Beach is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to oversee back‑of‑house operations, ensure food safety, and maintain high standards across all kitchen stations.

You will train and coach cooks, optimize workflow, manage food and labor costs, and support opening and closing tasks to deliver the Habit Difference with every guest.

A minimum of 2 years in a food service role and certifications such as a Food Manager and ServSafe Manager are required.

Qualifications

• Food Manager Certificate and ServSafe Manager Certificate required.
• Minimum 2 years of related food service experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard and leads by example in all kitchen functions and responsibilities.
• Provide direction and coaching to BOH Team Members.
• Able to perform all stations in the kitchen, including preparation and cooking of all food items.
• Ensure standard operational procedures are followed for consistent delivery of quality food items.
• Assist with opening and closing of the restaurant by following checklists.
