Job summary

Habit Burger & Grill in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee all FOH and BOH functions, ensure smooth shifts, and support management in hitting sales and safety targets. You will lead a team to deliver quality service and uphold standards.

You will coach and develop team members, recruit and train front-of-house staff, manage deposits and cash, control labor costs, and uphold cleanliness in a busy kitchen. Experience and certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in related food service management or 2 years in other food service positions.
• Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule and travel occasionally for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Handle guests’ requests and complaints.
• Recruit and hire FOH staff.
• Train and develop FOH staff, ensuring they meet customer service standards.
• Ensure Team Members comply with all established standards and safety.
• Oversee daily operations of a restaurant shift.
• Increase sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking in all areas of the restaurant.
• Prepare deposits and reconcile cash drawers and safe from previous shifts.
• Optimize profits by controlling food and labor costs.
