Job description

Salary:£28,000 per year

Hours:40 hours per week - some evenings & weekends required

What we need in a nutshell

We love creating exciting dining concepts across our locations and finding talented chefs to take them forward. In this Kitchen Team Leader role you will be preparing and cooking for a busy restaurant and helping to manage a team of Line Chefs, Kitchen Assistant and Kitchen porters.

Who are we?

We are a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday! As one of our 27 parks, set in 650 acres of idyllic Angus countryside, Piperdam combines superb accommodation and award-winning facilities to create the ultimate Scottish Experience. Our facilities include our Room with a View restaurant and Howie’s bar.

We need someone who understands that a first-class guest experience is an essential part of their stay at Piperdam. Here are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Open up or close down of the kitchen
  • Managing the shift and team in the kitchen
  • Assisting the management team in coaching and training
  • Working as part of a team you will be responsible for food preparation and cooking.
  • Ensuring presentation of menu items to a high standard.
  • Adhering to operational cleanliness and food hygiene
  • Supporting team members to help them be the best they can be
  • Ensuring restocking at the end of a shift
  • Complying with all the legal requirements

Skills, experience, and qualities you will need

We have high standards! We will train you up, but you must:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Passion for food and delivering excellent service
  • Experience supervising a team
  • Ability to think on your feet and deal with problems
  • Experience with stock control and working to a budget
  • Working closely with the Kitchen Manager you will be an integral part of the team; you should also be happy to interact with customers.
