Wage Range: $36.00/hr. plus overtime
Summary
Under the direction of the MPC Group Leader, the MPC Team Leader (TL) is responsible for overseeing daily work activities to achieve company metrics.
Essential Responsibilities
- Train, coach, and mentor the Materials Team, establishing performance standards, evaluating performance, ensuring policy adherence, and meeting leadership goals using PSI's IMPACT values (Innovation, Motivation, Passion, Accountability, Communication, Trust).
- Operate and instruct team members in the safe use of overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment, complying with OSHA safety regulations.
- Lead daily team-based problem-solving with a focus on Built-In-Quality at the shop floor, facilitating Kaizen activities and other problem-solving methods.
- Support the creation and revision of Standardized Work documentation, collaborating with Core Team Leaders and Industrial Engineering, and train staff accordingly.
- Investigate quality issues using data-driven systems, lead containment activities, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform daily Process Verification Audits, ensuring equipment and vehicles are in proper working order.
- Report production accurately via Epicor and ensure a steady flow of materials using the Kanban system.
- Collaborate with Lean Coordinators and Manufacturing Engineering to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in lifting materials up to 40 pounds, learning team lifts for heavier items, and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or management.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial, or Engineering discipline preferred; High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience acceptable.
- Understanding or experience with Lean Manufacturing practices such as Kaizen, Business Plan Deployment, Standardized Work.
- Experience with warehouse equipment like cranes and lift trucks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to create standardized work documentation and visual standards.
- Effective communication skills, including presenting to managers and employees.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
