Job summary

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurants is seeking a Kitchen Captain to support the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager in the back of house. You will help execute daily kitchen functions and uphold standards.

The role requires 1 year of kitchen leadership experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and some holidays. This position is on-site at our Colorado locations.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to handle challenges in a fast-paced environment with complex, multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Knowledge of food, knife, and kitchen equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution of daily kitchen functions.
• Fill out count sheets and help set and adjust prep par levels.
• Perform line checks and logbook entries on a daily basis.
• Uphold company standards in regard to food quality and presentation.
• Help to manage food and labor costs.
• Assist with inventory counts.
• Assist with training and developing BOH staff.
• Make certain that sanitation and safety standards are met at all times.
