Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Kitchen Steward/Cleaner to oversee cleaning in all Food and Beverage areas and maintain sanitation as required by health services. The role demands long hours, ability to lift and stand for long periods, and a service-oriented attitude.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, keep storages organized, and ensure safety and cleanliness across all kitchen zones in a fast-paced hotel environment. This is a full-time hourly position with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (or experience in hotel/related field).
• Flexible and long hours required at times.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must communicate effectively with employees and guests.
• Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
• Represent the hotel in a warm, friendly, service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean china, glass, and silver thoroughly and maintain sanitation.
• Return clean items to proper storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Handle chemicals safely with proper technique.
• Sweep, mop, and organize the Kitchen area including sinks, ice machine, and soap dispensers.
• Manually wash and scrub pots and pans.
• Keep dispensers stocked with paper, soap, and sanitizer.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchens and utility areas.
• Wash tile floors in food and beverage areas.
• Empty trash and keep cans clean.
• Comply with Loss Prevention guidelines.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required by management.
