Highgate Hotels is seeking a Kitchen Steward for Monterey Beach Hotel to maintain sanitation across all Food & Beverage areas and ensure cleanliness throughout the kitchen and related spaces.

The role requires standing for extended periods, heavy lifting capability, and strong communication with team members and guests. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits in a hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Willing to work flexible, long hours.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for entire shift.
• Effective communication with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean china, glass, and silver and maintain sanitation.
• Return cleaned items to proper storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Maintain safety and proper chemical handling practices.
• Sweep, mop, and organize kitchen areas including sinks and prep areas.
• Wash pots and pans by hand as required.
• Ensure dispensers are stocked with paper, soap, and sanitizer.
• Keep kitchens and utility areas clean and orderly.
• Adhere to safety standards and attend trainings.
