Job summary

Maman is seeking a Porter to maintain cleanliness, organization, and smooth workflow across kitchen, service, and storage areas. This role suits someone who takes pride in teamwork, cleanliness, and efficiency in a busy bakery café environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant, café or bakery environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks (standing, lifting, bending).
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• A strong sense of urgency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishpit, café, restroom, and service areas, including bus bins, floors, surfaces, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware promptly and thoroughly and replenish stock in the kitchen and on the floor as needed.
• Assist with trash and recycling removal in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Support Kitchen Leader and BOH staff with basic prep tasks as needed (e.g., carrying supplies, organizing storage, etc.).
• Receive, move, and properly store deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as paper goods, cleaning materials, service items, etc.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned to support daily operations.
