Maman in New York is seeking a Porter to help maintain cleanliness and smooth workflow across kitchen, service, and storage areas. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, cleanliness, and efficiency in a busy café/bakery environment.

You will support the BOH team with basic prep, receive deliveries, and ensure food safety standards are followed. Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant, café, or bakery environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks (standing, lifting).
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishpit, café, restroom, and service areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware promptly and replenish stock.
• Assist with trash and recycling removal per health and safety standards.
• Support Kitchen Leader and BOH staff with basic prep tasks.
• Receive, move, and store deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure storage areas are clean and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as paper goods, cleaning materials, and service items.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks to support daily operations.
