Job summary

Maman is a French bakery, café and lifestyle brand in New York seeking a Porter to maintain cleanliness, organization, and smooth workflow across the kitchen, service, and storage areas.

You’ll support the BOH team with dishwashing, stock replenishment, deliveries, opening and closing cleaning, and basic prep tasks, while upholding food safety standards in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with teammates to deliver great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant, café, or bakery preferred
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude
• Reliable and punctual with a team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable performing physical tasks (standing, lifting, bending)
• Flexibility with early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishpit, café, restroom, and service areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware promptly and replenish stock.
• Assist with trash and recycling removal in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Support Kitchen Leader and BOH staff with basic prep tasks as needed.
• Receive, move, and properly store deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as paper goods, cleaning materials, service items, etc.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned to support daily operations.
