Job summary

City Barbeque is seeking an Assistant General Manager/Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations, oversee food production, and uphold high quality standards.

You will recruit and train staff, forecast needs, manage inventory and costs, ensure food safety, and drive guest satisfaction through excellent execution.

This role combines hands-on cooking supervision with leadership, coaching, and a commitment to safety, quality, and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Assists with selecting and hiring kitchen staff.
• Trains and develops teammates.
• Maintains appropriate kitchen staffing levels for each shift.
• Ensures training materials and programs are used in teammate training.
• Sets clear performance expectations and provides feedback.
• Conducts timely Performance Reviews and wage changes.
• Leads training of new product rollouts.
• Supports FOH team with products for guest experience.
• Maintains food quality and temperature standards.
• Manages inventory procedures with the inventory system.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to standards of operational systems daily including line checks and production scheduler.
• Ensures all food is prepared per recipe and served correctly.
• Maintains Health Department and third-party auditor standards.
• Conducts regular quality line checks for 100% compliance.
• Organizes training and cleaning procedures for the kitchen.
• Forecasts sales and product mix usage levels.
• Manages budgeted food goals and waste variance.
• Controls labor costs through scheduling and management.
• Maintains equipment and company assets.
