Job summary

Dutchman Restaurant Bellville is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead daily kitchen operations, manage inventory, and ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

You will train staff, monitor costs, and foster a collaborative, high-quality work environment while coordinating with suppliers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must have prior kitchen management experience.
• Ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food ordering and inventory to control costs.
• Monitor food and labor costs to meet budget requirements.
• Foster a friendly, professional work atmosphere while enforcing standards.
• Ensure smooth kitchen operations during high volume, maintaining safety.
• Build positive relationships with staff and vendors.
• Assist other staff areas as needed.

What you’ll be doing

1. Orders food and supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels
2. Maintains appropriate food/labor costs according to budget
3. Creates/maintains a friendly and enjoyable work atmosphere while still holding staff accountable to established standards and policies
4. Ensures the high-volume kitchen operates efficiently while adhering to safety and sanitation standards
5. Builds positive and professional relationships with staff and vendors
6. Provides assistance to fellow staff in other areas as needed or requested

Skills you’ll bring along

1. Previous kitchen manager experience preferred
2.
