Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in the Hockessin area is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist the cook with food prep and presentation, manage the dishwashing area, and help in other dining operations.

You will prepare items, portion salads and desserts, assist with cleaning, stock shelves, and report issues to a supervisor. The role supports resident and guest service with a strong emphasis on sanitation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work under close supervision.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of equipment.
• Understand and retain simple instructions and apply them to the position.
• Able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects for short distances.
• Wear slip resistant footwear.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in food prep and presentation.
• Oversee dishwashing area and cleanliness of dishes, silverware, and glassware.
• Prepare, portion, and plate salads and desserts.
• Stock food on shelves and in the refrigerator.
• Assist with cleaning of kitchen, floors, and equipment.
• Support dining room service as needed and report issues to supervisor.
