Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide to assist cooks with meal preparation, dishwashing, and dining room service at our Dover, DE location. You will help with food setup, portioning, sanitation, and guest service, while supporting a friendly, collaborative kitchen team.

The role requires basic kitchen knowledge, the ability to stand for long periods, and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Good organisational skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of equipment.
• Ability to understand and apply simple instructions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in preparation and presentation of food.
• Manage dishwashing area and cleanliness of dishes, silverware, and glassware.
• Prepare food items as requested.
• Portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Set up and run dishwashing operation, keep dishwasher clean.
• Clean pots and pans and maintain sanitation.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerator.
• Assist with dining room service as needed.
• Report problems to supervisor.
• Attend in-service and staff meetings.
• Provide superior customer service to residents and guests.
