Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Food Service/Prep Aide at our Newark, Delaware location. You will assist the cook with food preparation and presentation, manage dishwashing, and help maintain kitchen and dining room operations.

This role supports resident dining and requires the ability to work in a dynamic, team-based environment. Responsibilities include portioning salads and desserts, stocking shelves, checking temperatures, and reporting issues to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.
• Must be able to work under close supervision.
• Possess basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to understand and retain simple instructions.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects up to 20 feet.
• Must wear slip resistant footwear.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook in the preparation and presentation of food.
• Manage the dishwashing area and ensure cleanliness of all dishes, silverware, and glassware.
• Prepare food items as requested; portion and plate salads and desserts.
• Assist in cleaning of kitchen, including floors and equipment.
• Stock food on shelves and in refrigerator; check water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipment.
• Report problems in the kitchen or dining room to supervisor.
