Job summary

Heinen’s Grocery Store in Naperville, IL is seeking a dedicated team member for full-time kitchen support. You will prepare foods per customer orders, maintain product quality, and follow safety and merchandising standards.

Training and corporate meetings are routine, with a focus on teamwork and exceptional service. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong communication, can work independently, and are comfortable in cool temperatures while handling loads up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to handle repetitive tasks while standing for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cool to cold temperatures.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily work based on varying business needs.
  • Prepare a variety of foods according to customer orders and approved procedures.
  • Wash, peel, and cut foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Follow panning, packaging, and merchandising standards.
  • Acquire and share knowledge of Kitchen Department.
  • Monitor and maintain food handling and temperature standards.
  • Write orders using effective pars and planning.
  • Work as a team to complete daily tasks, including shrink, orders, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Attend corporate meetings, vendor calls, and training classes.
  • Comply with personal and food safety standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize daily work based on varying business needs.
  • Prepare a variety of foods, such as sandwiches, wraps, trays, according to customers’ orders following approved procedures.
  • Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits, vegetables and meats, to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Follow Heinen’s panning, packaging, and merchandising standards.
  • Acquire and share knowledge of Kitchen Department.
  • Monitor and maintain all food handling and temperature standards
  • Responsible for writing orders using effective pars and planning.
  • Responsible for working as a team in order to complete daily tasks as needed, including scanning and recording shrink, order writing (weekly and special orders), stocking, rotating and merchandising.
  • Attend required corporate meetings, vendor calls, and training classes.
  • Comply with all personal and food safety company standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently to achieve daily tasks.
  • Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Be production driven with the ability to work continuously on repetitive tasks, while standing.
  • Possess the ability to frequent lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess the ability to work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees.
  • Must be willing to work the number of hours required to meet company objectives, with the understanding that occasionally business needs will require additional time.
  • Must be willing to work the non-traditional five-day work schedule, including Saturday, Sunday and evenings.
