Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen during classes and in-store operations. You will help deliver memorable experiences, uphold our hospitality standards, and contribute to a welcoming, guest-obsessed environment.

The role involves assisting with class preparation, stocking supplies, ensuring food safety, and collaborating with the team to meet service and sales goals.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive repeat visits and positive feedback.
• Assist in setting up and breakdown of classes, including mise en place, prepping ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper handling of tools and ingredients.
