Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage with guests, and maintain a clean, well-organized kitchen environment. This role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and delivering memorable culinary experiences in-store classes and events.

The Kitchen Assistant will help ensure smooth class operations, drive guest satisfaction, and contribute to store performance while upholding food safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution that drives repeat visits and positive customer feedback.
• Assist in setting up and breakdown of classes including organizing mise en place and cleaning workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, local health codes, and sanitation regulations.
