Job summary

Sur La Table in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, well-organized kitchen environment during classes and in-store operations.

You will help drive guest satisfaction, assist with class execution, ensure safety and sanitation, manage mise en place, restock supplies, and contribute to a welcoming, guest-obsessed culture across kitchen and retail floors.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Maintain expertise by staying current on products and actively seeking training and resources.
• Ensure exceptional customer experience by leading a guest-obsessed culture in both the kitchen and retail sales floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive repeat visits and positive feedback.
• Deliver class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
• Help with setup and breakdown of classes, prep ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain compliance with food safety standards, health codes, and sanitation regulations.
