Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Keyholder to serve as a limited Manager On Duty, maintaining store security and supporting management in delivering exceptional customer service. You will lead category teams, ensure merchandising standards, train associates, and handle daily operations including banking and communications with staff.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, prior supervisor experience, and be able to stand and perform physical duties as part of a retail team environment in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned category team to maximize profits and customer service while enforcing company policies.
• Operate the store as a limited Manager On Duty with the management team.
• Maintain store security and serve as a key-holding manager.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service and resolve complaints satisfactorily.
• Maintain category merchandising and store cleanliness and ensure operational efficiency.
• Train and develop Associates within category and support cross-training for growth.
• Facilitate effective communication through daily briefings and regular meetings.
• Handle banking tasks such as dropping off deposits and picking up change orders.
• Assist with stocking café/grocery supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
