Key Account Manager - Electrical Power Utilities

We are looking for Key Account Managers (KAM) to support Siemens’s largest accounts in the United States. This role involves utilizing your electrical utility domain expertise to provide solutions and sell software and energy automation equipment.

This is a remote opportunity in the contiguous U.S.

Siemens Grid Software and Energy Automation aim to accelerate energy transition and electrification by offering innovative products and solutions including energy protection, automation, communication technology, data analytics, digital twin solutions, and IoT applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the VP of Sales, identify, implement, and drive sales for targeted accounts.
  • Develop and support account plans, drive growth initiatives, sales strategies, and order fulfillment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CxO-level, VP, and Director contacts within municipalities and investor-owned utilities, articulating Siemens’ value proposition and differentiators.
  • Achieve sales targets aligned with strategic corporate initiatives related to sales growth and company culture.
  • Lead the launch and rollout of new offerings and commercial models.
  • Assist clients with funding requests and build business cases.
  • Provide weekly updates on forecasts, opportunities, and initiatives.
  • Represent the utility team across product management, marketing, engineering, customer support, and solution delivery.

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Extensive experience selling grid software and energy automation equipment/services to utility customers.
  • Proven skills in managing complex bids, contract negotiations, and sales campaigns.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal product teams to customize solutions.
  • Proficient in English communication at all organizational levels, including C-Suite.
  • Track record in account management, sales forecasting, and quota attainment across multiple product lines.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM or business.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Legal ability to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored authorization.

Preferred:

  • Experience with MEDDICC and Challenger sales methodologies.
  • Experience with On-Prem and Cloud solutions.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Revegy.
  • Knowledge of electric power distribution networks.

  • Base salary range: $107,520 - $184,320, plus bonuses/commissions, depending on experience and location.
